விநாயகர் வணக்கம் INVOCATION OF VINAYAKA

This is the Praise to the lord conventionally presented at the start of ThiruMandiram. ThiruMandiram in all earnest only starts with the Kadavul Vaazhthu "Onravan..." and this verse is not attributed to ThiruMoolar. But we are continuing with this beautiful song for Ganapathy as per tradition.

ஐந்து கரத்தனை யானை முகத்தனை

இந்தி னிளம்பிறை போலும் எயிற்றனை

நந்தி மகன்றனை ஞானக் கொழுந்தினைப்

புந்தியில் வைத்தடி போற்றுகின் றேனே.

Adoration to the Holy Feet enshrined in my Consciousness

The Feet of His whose arms are five,

Whose face has the Elephant`s majesty,

Whose single tusk rivals crescent moon,

Who is the darling child of Nandi

And who is wisdom pure and overflowing.

பொழிப்புரை - தருமையாதீனம்

ஐந்து கைகளையும், யானை முகத்தையும், சந்திரனது இளமை நிலையாகிய பிறைபோலும் தந்தத்தையும் உடையவரும், சிவபிரானுக்குப் புதல்வரும், ஞானத்தின் முடி நிலையாய் உள்ளவரும் ஆகிய விநாயகப் பெருமானை உள்ளத்தில் வைத்து, அவரது திருவடிகளைத் துதிக்கின்றேன்.
